Why Use A Dust Containment Cart In Your Facility?

A dust containment cart is something that you may be regulated to use in your medical facility

. However, you may wonder why you need to use such a cart. You may find that dust containment is a pain that you would like to avoid when possible. However, there are plenty of reasons why using such a cart is in the best interest of the patients as well as the workers in a medical facility. Here are a few of the reasons you should consider:

1.Regulations require medical facilities to use dust containment. Federal and state law requires that hospitals and other medical facilities take certain precautions to avoid releasing contaminants into the air around patients. This is to prevent unneeded infections and other medical problems. There are also professional regulatory and overseeing organizations that also require these precautions for the facility to remain accredited and operating.

2.Negative air pressure machines contain air scrubbers to remove contaminants. An air scrubber runs air through a series of filtration devices to remove particulates. This is essential for medical facilities since even a small amount of contamination can spread illness and infection. The interior of the hospital is kept clean using various chemicals and cleaning solutions. That does not clean the interior of ducts, walls, and other hidden cavities. Using an air scrubber helps to remove those contaminants when they are opened.

3.A dust containment cart is easy to set up compared to manual methods for dust containment. The cart wheels into place under the place where work needs done. The worker locks the wheels into place, and then opens up the cart. Inside, the worker raises the containment curtains to surround the work area. After getting done with the work, the worker reverses the process. After removing the cart from the work area, it is easy to clean and prepare for the next use. Manual containment requires more time and materials than the buggy.

4.The use of a dust containment cart helps keep the work area sparkling clean. The cart itself provides a physical barrier that contains the dust and debris. When you pair it up with a negative air machine and an air scrubber, you will pull those particulates out and trap them before releasing the clean air into the surrounding environment.
