. You can elect to take traffic school to remove traffic ticket points off your license, reduce your fine (depending on your county) and avoid insurance premium increases. However, you may be required to take traffic school either by a judge or to keep your license. In fact, new laws have been passed recently that require traffic school for certain traffic violations.

If the county court where you received your ticket allows you to take traffic school to dismiss your ticket, or if you need to take traffic school to keep your license, as long as you complete it within the amount of time allotted and submit proof of completion to the court, you should not receive any points.

Remember, if you do get points on your license you may see a rise in your insurance premiums or your insurance may be canceled all together.
