Few days back, I was watching a video by one of my colleagues from the industry. All his 12 points he made in the video are really close to my heart. In this Article, I am putting my experience of years and few of the points of my friend to reveal the secrets that super sales-people employ to succeed with.


The Winning Practices:

Commitment: Be the postage stamp and get glued to your goals until you reach the destination. Whatever the situation you face, never ever quit. Remember the fact that every dark night brings the brightest day light. In the words of my friend "if it doesn't kill you, don't stop."

Planning: Whatever business you do and whichever strategy you apply, fit it to your mind that every business needs a well planned blue print to proceed with. You don't have a plan means you don't have an aim and without aim there is no vision; ultimately no vision means you can't carry a mission forward ever. Know the basics of your goals first, then prepare the strategy that suits you and your conditions best. Always keep the switching option very tight. I mean don't give yourself too much of room to change plans frequently. Keep the number of options as low as to one or two only. It will motivate you to work full heartedly and with full efforts.

Self Discipline: If you give a minute look into the daily activities of life, you will notice that most of us spend time on the things of lesser importance or of no importance at all. In order to be successful and to achieve our goals, we must train ourselves to self-mastery. It is the process of training ourselves to do only the things that really needs to be done and stop doing those we should not. Business people generally concentrate on doing things right. But to gain ultimate benefit one should try to do things right rather than looking for the right things.

Value: As I always mention in my write-ups and lectures, one should try to deliver as much value as possible. This is a process of exchange, able to get you the success you need. While noting this point you should be clear on how you define value. Value in the business sense can be the knowledge of that specific area of your business or a small part from related areas of your business. Be well informed on all the topics of your business. Learn from the people who are already masters in this field. Be transparent while delivering some value.

Build Trust, Build Relationships: While doing business and delivering value, always be transparent and be 100% reliable. Try to be helpful as much as possible. While maintaining a professional level in your business keep the options open to have some negative word-fires. In such a situation, be honest and answer questions honestly. If you can't answer something, don't lie and find the answer wherever/whenever possible. Build a relationship with the people who come to your touch for business. A good relationship is always the base of a good business ahead.

Be Positive, Stay Enthusiastic: Negative ray is everywhere. Every day starts with lots of bad news on papers and news channels. But one should outshine these negative rays and the factors emitting negative rays. Always be positive and take every failure on its positive side; learn from your failures. Be enthusiastic in your approach and spread the enthusiasm level to those whom you approach in daily life.

Be the Need: It's better to be a piece of string that can pull someone out than the golden chain that drowns. Concentrate on the need of your leads or clients. If you can't fit the need or in other words can't create the need then you are a failure. In this age of advanced social media communication, people depend on the self discovered ways. So, it's a good thing if you can make your business the much talked one. Increasing the level of engagements with techniques like social media is something I personally suggest.

Your Approach: People don't count on you, but on your words. Be nice and nerd to what and how you say. In the current time, the best businessman always initiates with his words first. Be very clear in your approach and your offerings. Whether you have a product or service to offer, make the best effort to describe it from the client's perspective. Don't take negative words as failures, instead work upon those weak areas and make them the plus points.


Follow-up: The basics of marketing essentially revolve around good follow-ups. So, implant an effective follow-up policy into your business. Make it interesting for your own convenience and at the same time avoid the most frequent follow-ups, instead apply lengthy follow-ups. So, keep it light but stretch it far.

Detoxify: Business can never be done without the presence of slightest tensions ranging from finances to marketing to personal. Whatever the type of tension and problem you face in your business, get a day out of your business for yourself. Detoxify on this day either every week or in a fortnight or in a month by spending time on your hobbies and with your family. Keep all our business related issues apart. It will help you rejuvenate.
