Wollongong Lighthouse Receives Final Makeover Fever Dragons
A giant red V is in the little lighthouse at the port of Wollongong this evening to celebrate St George Illawarra Dragons NRL grand final take.
Wollongong Council covers 40 meters of red cloth on the structure at 3:00 pm (Paris) and expects to complete the task tonight.
Council CEO David hopes farmers will be a source of inspiration before the Dragons clash with the Sydney Roosters grand final on Sunday. Mr. Farmer says he was at an event in Flagstaff Hill yesterday, when an audience member approached him with the idea.
He says he contacted the MP for Wollongong Noreen There are things and progressed rapidly from there.
"I got in touch with Noreen Hay, she assisted greatly in getting us approval because the lighthouse is owned by the State Government and the Department of Lands and from there we got some quotes.
" he said."It's just a sign I guess of our town's support and something to focus the city on over the weekend, a bit of fun really."
