Women grants are a form of federal grants just for females

. A federal grant is a financial assistance awarded to a recipient by a federal agency to help out the American public. The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has provided detailed information about federal funding opportunities online. Through the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, the Department of Health and Human Services does a background check of women-entrepreneurs owning small businesses. In order to qualify as a female owned small business, the company must be entirely owned or maintain at least 51% ownership rights by a woman or group of women.

Women entrepreneurs who want to start a business or expand their existing company can request assistance through the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), as their grant budget is currently plentiful and ready to help women in business. The Small Business Act authorizes the Small Business Administration (SBA) to enter into contracts with certain agencies and to subcontract the work. SBA, along with key federal agencies and other resource partners, is developing a systematic approach to increase the number of female-owned firms receiving federal contract awards. The Women-Owned Small Business Initiative Committee (WOSBIC) seeks to link women owned small businesses with a network of buyers and federal contractors, serves as a portal to keep the businesses up to date with the latest news and information, develop initiatives and strategies, as well as host forums to foster women owned small businesses. They also ensure that business analyst services are available to the small business, helping them with their business strategies along the way. And if thats not enough, they conduct outreach activities and training programs too.
