Workers with approved electrical qualifications could benefit from BSF scheme
Lancashire professionals who have approved electrical or plumbing qualifications
could find that there are employment opportunities during a Building Schools for the Future (BSF) project for Balfour Beatty.
It was recently announced by the construction firm that financial close had been reached on the Blackburn with Darwen and Bolton Councils scheme.
Chief executive Ian Tyler commented that the group was looking forward to supplying "new, first-class, learning environments as well as facilities that will be available to the whole community including leisure, learning, sports and ICT provision".
Furthermore, the company outlined its commitment to local business, stating that between 40 per cent and 60 per cent of people employed on the sites would be workers from the area.
The Balfour Beatty Education Apprenticeship will also be launched on the project, offering more than 25,000 apprenticeship places to locals.
Balfour Beatty was established in 1909 by Scottish mechanical engineer George Balfour and English chartered accountant Andrew Beatty.
