Speaking of thriving, most companies are just a little too humdrum; it's hard for
people to buy if there's no obvious reason why they should, beyond keeping their jobs. Bonuses and raises are a good way to change this, of course, but you should also do other things to get people invigorated and keep them incentivized. After all, the more they make, the more you make. So have internal contests to keep things interesting. For example, hold sales competitions to motivate sales staff. They'll work harder for a Hawaiian trip than for their commission.
