Writing An Article - Simplifying The Article Writing Process For Beginners

Let me simplify the process for you

Let me simplify the process for you. Here's what you need to do:

1. Choose your topics. First thing to do is to decide on the topic that you're going to explore. To keep things simple, stick with those topics that are related to the theme of your blog and website. If you're selling shoes for example, you can write tips on how online users can buy the perfect shoes that will suit their needs. Ensure that your topics are valuable and useful to your readers.

2. Start strong. Ensure that your first paragraph is well thought out and smartly written. You would want to create a very strong first impression and you would want to please your readers as early as possible. You may opt to offer the juiciest information you have or you can start your articles with compelling questions that will target the emotional hot buttons of your readers. For example, you can ask them "Are you getting frustrated in losing all your excess fat?" "Can't wait to fit in that two-piece bikini?" People who are having weight loss problem will surely be enticed to read your articles if you use such questions.

4. Article body. Start by giving your readers with general information about the topic that you're discussing. Let's take obesity for example. Start by telling your readers what obesity means and how it affects a lot of people in the United States. Present some studies and research that will back up your claims. Then, offer your readers with some information that they can use. You can offer them with tips on how to fight obesity. Ensure that you offer new and fresh information. Your target audience will not pay attention to your articles if they contain nothing but data that can easily be found elsewhere.

5. Make it scannable. Don't make your articles an eye sore. To entice more people to read them, make them easy to skim through. You can do this by using very short paragraphs and bullet points. This is highly recommended if you're giving out tips and guides. Don't forget to use subheadings. These will help your readers determine if they need to read your succeeding paragraphs.

6. Keep it short. Expand your vocabulary and get to know the most effective words that you can use when expressing your ideas. You want to keep your articles short and tight as much as possible. Why? It's because that's how online users want them to be. It will also help if you limit the scope of your content. Always target very specific topics and do away with those broad ones. You don't want to write articles that contain 1,000 words or more otherwise, you'll bore your readers. You don't want that to happen, do you?

7. Use conversational tone. You don't need to make your articles sound like novels or newspaper copies. Keep in mind that you're writing for your peers over the internet. So, write as if you're talking to a friend. It's okay to be upbeat and spontaneous. Go ahead and ask questions, inject stories, and tell jokes. The more you do these, the better your chances of engaging your readers. This is the key to get them to like you and to get them to read your articles until the end.

8. No blatant ads please. One of the most common mistakes of new writers is that they try to talk about their products and services on their articles. Well, this isn't the best way to make a sale. Online users simply hate it when instead of useful information, they're presented with sales pitches. As an article writer, you should focus first on meeting the learning needs of your audience. You can pitch in your offerings on your resource box. Don't even try to sound like you're doing hard selling otherwise, you'll annoy your readers.

9. Mind your grammar. Online users can be very critical these days. As they're aware that they deserve nothing but the best, they will surely not settle for articles that contain glaring grammar errors. Revisit your grammar lessons before you start writing.

10. Unique content. Don't commit the mistake of copying other's work. As a writer, you must be committed in giving your readers with fresh and unique information. Plagiarism can hurt your online credibility. This will send a very strong message that you don't have anything valuable to offer. This is the last thing that you would like to happen when you're doing business in the online arena.
