To get mothers to go back to college, the government is offering Obama scholarships for moms. Mothers of all types have an opportunity to get a quality education. This will no doubt benefit their families and future employers. Obama scholarships come from federal aid called Pell Grants. Because Obama and the government are putting emphasis on getting moms to go back to school, they've made some changes to these grants. Now Pell Grants can be awarded in amounts over $5,000. That's more than $1,000 more than the previous maximum for these grants. These grants are intended to help low income students, and this includes single mothers in many cases.
