If you are using open source software, make sure you get the latest fixes and updates. If upgrades are not released in a timely manner, you can hire your own developer to create fixes for the script.

Your scripts may be secure, but your server may not. A web hosting company that is not familiar with security issues may leave their servers vulnerable to hacker attacks.
