Preschoolers are just kids. Some of them are excited to go to school, but some are also in hesitant. Primarily, the main reasons why kids don't want to go to school are lack of encouragement from parents and being not ready to face school's activities. There are other things that kids must do on their own especially when they are in school and parents are not around. It is important to get a great start and begin your kid's transition from home to school easier and worry-free for them. Here are some of the tips that work out for many.
1.) Buy Flash Cards and books. Using flash cards is a fun way of to help your child learn new things. Numbers, colors, shapes, and alphabet are some of the topics that should be learn by your kids. The cards can be used as a fun game between you and your kids daily. By using these flash cards, learning will be fun, exciting, and not so stressful. Buying kids-friendly books will also do a lot. Doing such activity daily will make a great head start for your kids.
2.) Train your kids to be on-time and responsible. Your kids must know how to read time for them to become time conscious. It is important so that your kids will be ready to go to school where everything is scheduled. One way to make your child time conscious is by giving them alarm clock. Just put an alarm clock in your kid's bedside and set the time they will have to wake up.
Also, you can buy charts and make a daily schedule of chores and events of your kids. It is an innovative way to help your child develop some of the attitude and inner skills they need to perform better in school such as time management, discipline and responsibility. Kids mind set is all about fun. So don't miss to give a fun element in every way of teaching your kids. You can make creative charts for just about anything. Give them rewards or even set up bigger prizes for end of the week if they have done their tasks very well. Do not set rewards out further than daily or weekly, kids generally cannot comprehend how long a month is. Do this daily and this will be a big help to make them ready when the actual first day of school comes.
3.) Teach them how to eat and drink. To know how to eat and drink with their own is important for kids starting to go to school. It will also make them gain some self confidence. The teacher will not be able to assist the students if they have some problems like this because of the student's number and if they do, then they'll just be consuming the whole school time in feeding the students, right? That is why, the kids will need to have good motor skills and be able to do it with their selves. You must start by teaching them how to use spoon and fork while they are at home.
You may also use child-friendly cups to help your kids drink on their own. As the child try to develop their motor skills needed for holding and tilting the cup, remove the lid and allow them to try it on their own. It is a good idea to let the child drink from a regular cup at meal times. Make sure that your utensils are of high quality and child-friendly. Tendency is that your kids may use these utensils in playing and may cause some problems.
Environment's transition from home to school matters to kids a lot. It's like they are being put into a whole new world. That is why parents must do their part to make it easier and worry free for the kids. Following some of these tips will help you to do your goal and will bring out the best in them.
