The points system declared by the Directorate of Education caused a lot of confusion amongst the parents. The point system was a basis of selecting evaluating a child according to various parameters decided by the school. These were included in the admission form as questions.

The proximity of a school to a child's home, the number of siblings studying in the institution, whether the parent's are ex-alumni or not, single parents or not and several other questions which formed a criteria to evaluate the child and the child's parents on.
