The ideal job for me is that of a director. Whether you are directing a video game, a film or a play, the rush is the same. Where else can you watch unfold before your very eyes the fantasy of your imagination? Yes the writers are important for they plant the seed of creation, but it is the director that waters and fertilizes that seed into full bloom. A hand just so, a crooked smile to finish a thought or simply a sigh as the scene closes conveys volumes to the audience watching. Every shot is closely scrutinized by the director and redone until his very soul is in the scene. Even though the director has full control, he relies on the opinions of the writer, the producer and even the actors. This is another plus: working with people so talented they could blow your socks off. Directing also sets no limits on you physically. You can be 90 years old and still direct, of course you can be 90 years old and still write or produce, but directing completes you. Writing a book is not the end, producing is just the beginning; however directing is the piece de resistance.

Though directing is a behind the scenes job, all eyes are on the director. The outcome of the project depends on his ability to bring pages to life and to do it in a way that will keep people remembering it forever. Look at the Matrix and Star Wars. Classics! And it was the director that coached and encouraged the actors to see the vision of the film through his eyes. Imagine Yes, the story is great, yes, the actors are professionals, but without the director pinpointing what level to take it, youll miss the aspiration. Being a director also opens a world of ventures from comedy to Sci-Fi. You are not limited to just one subject. It is a smorgasbord of categories. No boring job here.

As a director you meet new people, work with the best crew and they are in awe of you. Of course you must be careful to not let pride get in the way, for even though as the director you may have the final say, it is a team effort that brings it together. Directing is an art in itself; it takes imagination, confidence, an open mind, and a sense of humor; but all this just gets you in the door. Your talent is what keeps you in the running and your perseverance that sees you to the end. As a director you must be willing to reach for the impossible, mold it the way you envision it to be, convince your team to see it your way, and then let it fly. Wow, What a dream job. Of course the directors chair is really inviting, I would direct just for the chair. But seriously directing is not just a dream job it is the dream job of all dream jobs. ACTION!!!About the Author:
