When venturing into the world of network marketing

, it can be difficult to wade through all the information. Each company you research will claim to be one of the best operating today. The truth is, as long as the company has a long history of doing business and has an excellent alumni of successful distributors and directors, choosing the "best" really means, choosing the best for you.

In order to decide which is the best network marketing company for your investment, there are some key things to consider:

Reputation

It is important to do due diligence before signing up with any old network marketing firm. How long has the company been in business? Anything less than two years should be a red flag, as many companies fail within their first year or two. The best companies to work for are those who have been in business many years.

How are their products? Do people trust them? Companies who sell products that people need, want, use, and would recommend to a friend are the cornerstone of any good business. Without a product, you'll have no customers. Also be sure the products are not based upon a fad, or some sort of technology that is on it's way to becoming obsolete. The recipe for success in network marketing is healthy residual income, and products that will be useless in a few months will put you on the fast track to nowhere.

Buy in

Find out how much it will cost you to get in on the ground floor. Some of the best companies have very low buy-ins and some even have "test drive" periods, where you can return your start up kit for a refund if not fully satisfied. Companies who have shady return policies, outrageously high startup fees or annual/quarterly/monthly maintenance fees should be scrutinized very carefully. Good companies have policies that are easy to understand and give all the "fine print" up front. If it's truly a good opportunity, there should be nothing to hide.

Mentoring and Training

The best companies have excellent mentoring and training programs. Newbies should have as much information as they can access, all at their fingertips. Companies who just throw you to the wolves without giving you basic training on sales techniques are not to be trusted. As you are researching, locate as many consultants and distributors as you can, and ask him to tell you about the training and mentoring programs. You can usually tell by the success of those you speak to, whether or not the training programs are helpful but remember to use your own judgement and do your own due diligence before jumping into the deep end or you could find yourself stuck with the best network marketing company and the worst mentor.

The bottom line; whatever company you choose, learn how to market your mlm business the right way!
