, you are probably uncertain of what kind of washer to purchase. You already know that buying pressure washing equipment that is too small will either not get the job done or take too much time, dipping considerably into your profit margin. Purchasing one that is too large, on the other hand, would be a waste of money and you risk damaging your customer's property. It is critical to know what you are getting and what it will be used for.

Water pressure (PSI) is a key element to look at when searching for pressure washing equipment, but it's not the most important. Water displacement (GPM) should play a much more critical role in the decision-making process if it does not already. To elaborate, GPM is iatrical to calculating how much chemical is added to the water and what the surface area covered by the spray is. Save time with a wider surface area and money by using fewer chemicals. Cleaning units (CUs) don't mean much, either, so don't let them influence your decision. CU is simply the product of the GPM and the PSI.

Next, you will want to figure out what type of power source that fits your needs. There are two types of power used by pressure washing equipment, electricity and gasoline. Physical sizes and power outputs of gasoline and electric washers vary widely, but one thing that is certain is that gas produces far more power. Electric washers are quieter and typically used for indoor and limited outdoor usages. Portability is also limited by the length of the power cord. Gas powered units are much more portable and powerful, but can be loud.

Here is something else to keep in mind about portability. Portability costs money. If you don't need it, don't buy it. Stationary models significantly more affordable. But if you do need portability, then check the weights and dimensions of the pressure washing equipment. You may end up paying less for a larger or heavier model that may cost you extra money to transport equipment, elevated fuel costs, and lifting tools.

Some other things that you might want to consider are the internal mechanisms of the pressure washing equipment you intend to buy. There are three types of drives that are used and three types of pumps, all having different advantages and disadvantages. Direct drives and belt drives are the most popular, although some washers use gear drives (but due to frequent transmission problems, they aren't popular). Direct drives transfer power directly to the pump, resulting in more power. As a drawback, they often require water to be forced into the washer. Belt drives use a belt to reduce the power to the pump, but often have longer service lives and can pump from standing water sources. You may also look into pump types. Wobble pumps are inexpensive, require frequent maintenance, and should be used sparingly. A better, but more expensive option is axial pumps. They can be use more often and usually can go twice as long as wobble pumps between servicing. Industrial strength camshaft pumps can triple or quadruple axial pumps in terms of service life and usage, but at a much greater cost.
