The powerful energy hitting the earth, emitted by sun is enormously useful, even in small fractions. This energy can assist to save the daily expenses in large amounts. Solar electricity at home is one of the valuable sources, which can be utilized effectively saving energy and lot of money. This can help to reduce the waste and address the issue in a significant way. One of the devices in the form of solar panels can be very useful and effective in terms of energy saving. There are three main criteria, which are associated with the use of sun energy. The first is the sunlight, which by providing heat in the form of energy is very useful. The other is the electricity, which can be replaced by sun energy in performing many activities. Incentive is another area, which helps to promote its use.

The use of fuels such coal and wood is being reduced and replaced by sun power, even for cooking meals for the whole family using cookers. Not only it saves fuel, it also saves lot of time. The effective use of this power is for heating and lighting purposes. The innovation of technology in terms of using glass panels on the roof for converting this power to the heat and light sources has changed the lifestyle in a significant way. The oil prices are high; therefore it has become more urgent to find alternative sources, in terms of solar energy.

The lighting system using sun energy at home is a fixed installation system, which includes solar cells, batteries, lamps, fans, charge controller etc. The domestic application of this type energy can be seen in running grinders, water pumps, lights etc. This power can facilitate the running of these instruments efficiently.

One of the issues with this type of energy is the efficiency of transfer of power using panels. The energy is generated, but the transfer to useful power is a task, which needs technology in place for the optimum use. The objective is to transfer sun power to electricity. It is a challenge in many situations but the technique is being devised to use the maximum.

As the sun power does not use turbine, instead the sun energy strikes the silicon crystals of the panels, creating electric potential. If the crystals are targeted, as per the need, this potential can then be converted to the required amount of current for the efficient working.

As the utility of this sun energy is being realized, several programs are being put in place to promote the use of this type of power. The solar cells and the panels are gaining efficiency in terms of productivity. It is interesting to note that even on cloudy days, some energy can be produced.

The environment can be protected by using solar electricity at home. Going green is being promoted, which means to create a balance between human life and the environment. The objective is to encourage the use of renewal energy resources and reduce the nonrenewable sources.
