The electric golf trolleys are becoming more complicated. Various models are available at the market today which can be used to control the speed in different ways. Speed can held constant or manually controlled depending upon the manufacturing of the trolley. The very basic electric golf trolleys are very reliable and they have an on off switch and also provide variable speed control. Some trolleys allow movement on its own for a certain minimum distance, say 20 or 30 yards thud providing a distance control. But attention should be paid because a trolley running by itself can sometimes trip over as the course is uneven so a trolley should be selected which has a rear wheel to prevent the slipping over. Sometimes this trolley can save in the memory the previous speed with which it was moving, so when we switch it on the trolley will automatically adjust to the same speed and will move with the constant speed.
The latest golf trolleys coming into market today have modern electronic features which enable us to preset a distance and also to calculate the distance traveled. A long term warranty period is absolutely necessary as the electronic equipments are more supplicated and may develop troubles more often. The new trolleys available in the market are attached with special systems which helps to maintain the speed at a constant level.
There is also a full remote control trolley available which allows the user to control the trolley from a distance of up to 40 yards. Each wheel can be controlled to left, right or reverse and there is a separate motor for each. Manual control can also be applied to these trolleys and they offer some disadvantages also. The twin motors calls for the need of batteries of higher capacity and the trolley as a whole becomes heavier and this results in discomfort for the person handling the trolley. Thus, though they provide the comfort of controlling from a distance, on the other hand offer disadvantages also.
