Nikon D90 12.3MP DX-Format CMOS Digital SLR Camera
I've been using this camera for regarding a pair of months currently and i have been very proud of it up to now. I traded up from a Sony DSLR-A230 and i have never once thought of wanting back. i am not knowledgeable photographer and i am not loaded (lowly government employee) and that i haven't any buyer's remorse in spending this quantity of cash on a camera. None whatsoever. Understandably it's attending to be higher than the Sony as a result of it is a mid-range instead of an entry level, however it's astonishingly higher.
Camera body: terribly solid and feels nice in your hand. i do not have huge or little hands, and it feels close to right on behalf of me. Buttons are laid out properly and every one at intervals fingers reach while not stretching. Aperture and shutter speed dials spin with simply the correct quantity of resistance. Buttons have a firm press and an understandable detent for when they are activated. LCD show on high is great; it's customizable to what specifically you wish it to show.
Lens: I own the kit 18-105 lens (bought the body on sale and then the kit lens on eBay for $200 refurb... saved somewhat cash) and a 50mm F1.8 lens. VR works fairly well and can permit you to (give or take) shoot regarding three stops slower than you'll normally hand hold. I will hand hold around 1/15 while not an excessive amount of blur. you'll be able to positively hear it kicking in and positively see it within the viewfinder. reasonably appears like you are drunk (the motions are slightly delayed and slowed). image quality with the kit lens is additionally fairly smart however with a moderate quantity of linear distortion at the extremes, most notably around 18mm. It's still somewhat correctable with post-processing, however it's value noting. Around 24mm is where I've noticed the smallest amount distortion. Since it's an AF-S lens (meaning the focusing is completed by a motor at intervals the lens instead of the screw drive), autofocus is incredibly fast. far better than my 50mm lens that uses the screw drive.
