Believe it or not you can actually do exercises to prevent snoring. Exercises for snoring work because they help to firm up the muscles and soft tissue. This is important because snoring is caused by loose, soft tissue that vibrates when the air you breathe is forced through airways that are narrower because of the presence of the soft tissue that constricts them.

During the day your muscles keep the tissue under control, which is why you only ever actually snore when you sleep. But when you are sleeping the muscles in and around your throat and airways are totally relaxed. So that when you're lying down sleeping there's nothing to prevent the soft tissue from ballooning into your airways. Exercising can help to remedy this.

There are several exercises to prevent snoring, but here's a simple one to get you started...

Basically you have to exercise the jaws by pretending to chew chewing gum. That's the easiest way to describe this exercise. Pretend to chew chewing gum for about a minute. Repeat the exercise several times throughout the day. But don't press your teeth together too hard as this could damage them. Just lightly touch them together as you 'chew.' And, ensure you keep your lips closed, don't open your mouth.

This is a very basic exercise to get you started. But there are more that you can do to stop snoring at night.
