What is in the future for me with this virus? Do the treatments work? Well, the answer is sometimes yes, and sometimes treatments need to be repeated as outbreaks continue to recur. There are many reasons for the recurrence of genital warts and genital herpes, and we will explore some of those reasons here.

People infected with genital warts try different treatments such topical creams, lotions and ointments, or removal procedures such as laser or electric elimination processes. Sometimes, the genital warts outlook is such that the warts don't respond to the treatment and even after a removal, sometimes they come back. It's important to remember that just because your partner has been treated, doesn't mean you have been. You can still be carrying the virus and susceptible to an outbreak at any time.

Sometimes, especially if you have multiple partners, it is possible that you have more than one kind of HPV types in your system. Your partner can re-infect you, or you can get a new strand of HPV from someone else. Another reason is that if you waited a long time before detecting your HPV or genital warts, there was probably an extended time of incubation for the HPV, meaning it got stronger and is now harder to suppress. In this case the genital warts outlook is not completely hopeless, but harder to treat.

Sometimes the virus can persist in the layers of skin or in hair follicles, or in places on the body that the treatment missed. And sometimes, there are lesions deep in the body that were never detected and therefore never removed. These are the hardest warts to treat as they are the hardest warts to find and be aware of. The best thing to do to ensure a positive genital warts outlook is to treat as many areas as you can find and then be sure to take steps to strengthen your immune system through practicing a healthy lifestyle. Eating right, drinking enough water, getting enough sleep, and reducing stress, alcohol and smoking are the best ways to give your body what it needs to fight the HPV virus.
