Glow Twirling And Fire Twirling Equipment
Glow twirling can be done using different types of glowing equipment
. The most commonly used are poi, clubs, and staffs. Every material is manipulated in a unique way. A great glow twirler should be able to master the usage of all of the possible materials. However, most glow twirlers focus on a specific material. Glow twirling is very challenging, since mastering the glowing apparatus can be very difficult. In fact, it usually takes years before a person can master one of them. How much more would it take if all of the different styles had to be learned?
Beginners could start glow twirling by practicing with the glow staff. Of all the other materials, the staff is the easiest to use. Mastering the staff can only take a few months. In fact, there are even performers who can learn to use a staff in just a few days. Once the beginner has mastered using a single staff, he can start practicing with two. As his skills improve, he can start studying the more complex materials. The poi is very difficult to master since it requires hand-eye coordination and a good sense of balance. Nevertheless, the poi is a crowd favorite. That is why performers must learn it if they really want to impress a lot of people.
The big question that a lot of people ask is this: Is there any difference between glow twirling and actual fire dancing? There is not an apparent difference when it comes to the routines. The only difference is that fire twirling is more dangerous. That is what makes that type of dance more exciting.
Fire twirling is a very dangerous activity. The equipment used in glow and fire dancingis practically the same. Clubs, poi, and staffs are all used. The only difference is that, in fire dancing, these materials are set on fire. The fire continues to burn through the use of kerosene, even if the material is being twirled and hurled. A lot of experts say that kerosene is bad for the skin. That is why most fire dancers suffer from rashes. The danger that fire dancing offers can be very critical. A lot of fire twirling performers have suffered from first to third degree burns because of accidents while they are performing. Kerosene is very flammable. If it every gets on the hair, the hair can get lit as well.
Because fire twirling is a dangerous activity, it takes more time to master. Of course, the moves and routines are practically the same as glow dancing. Nevertheless, fire is involved here. Therefore, performers should try their best to avoid getting burnt by their materials. The good thing about fire dancing is that it can be enjoyed even in broad daylight, unlike glow dancing, which can only be enjoyed in the dark.
