Heavy exertion and exercise need to be postponed for a certain amount of time after the surgery. However, by easing back into these activities slowly, injury and overexertion can be avoided. This process of easing back can begin relatively soon after the surgery, and a return to one's full set of usual activities is usually possible within a few weeks after the surgery.
