Located in the hills of Vaishno Devi, in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, in India, Vaishno Devi is also known as Mata Rani and Vaishnavi, is a manifestation of the Mother Goddess.Vaishno Devi shrine is located near a town named Vaishno Devi, in the Reasi district in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. One of the most revered places of worship in India, the temple is located at an altitude of 5300 feet. An Approximate count of 8 million pilgrims visit the temple each year, thus making it the second most visited religious shrine in India.

The distance from Delhi to Vaishno Devi is about 650 km. Since Vaishno Devi has no railway or airport, it is only accessible by roadways. Even so, it is reasonably easy to reach to Vaishno Devi from Delhi. At the same time, it is possible to board the train from Delhi to Jammu Tawi, which is the nearest rail head and then proceed to Vaishno Devi by bus. Numerous buses are available from the railway station to reach Vaishno Devi.

Alternatively, one can also board bus from Delhi to Vaishno Devi. There are several types of buses available from Delhi to travel to Vaishno Devi. These bus services are run by both government and private operators. As such, regular services are available from Delhi to Vaishno Devi. While a non A/C bus ticket will cost one to the upwards of INR 250, an A/C Volvo Semi Sleeper ticket will cost up to Rs 800 for an adult. It is best suited for youngsters and backpackers.

Hiring private cab to travel from Delhi to Vaishno Devi is also a viable option, especially if one is travelling with family consisting of infants, elders and invalids. The taxi fare to reach till Vaishno Devi would be in the range of INR 14,000 to Rs 19,000, which is inclusive of the charges of return journey as well.
