How best to prepare for an interview

Before you hear those pleasing words "you are Hired," it is imperative that you must go through the process of an interview. There is no doubt that it takes hard work, dedication and time to get there.

You may have spent countless hours looking for a job and then applying to as many as you can that you feel qualified for. Finally, you may be invited for an interview by your potential employer.

This period can be unnerving wracking and grueling for many. But this stress can be eliminated or at least eased greatly if you have a little forethought as to the questions that might be asked of you. Why is this so important?. The interview is the first stage to getting the job and so you, want to do your best first, you must try to be natural and poise during the interview.

I have been a member of interview panel on several occasions when a candidate with lower qualification is taken due mostly to his poise, knowledge of the job and experience.

If this is your first time of attending an interview, you must prepare yourself by considering these questions:

1. Why have you apply for the job?

2. Have you had an experience of a job like this before?

3. What do you know about the company?

4. What skill can you bring to this job?

5. Why do you think you are most suited for this job?

6. What are your plan for the company?

7. Can you work under stress?

8. What are your greatest assets?

9. Why do you want to work for this particular company?

10. Why have you been unemployed for so long?

These are only the basic questions that could be asked.

There could be many more. You can in fact do a rehearsal with someone acting as the interviewer asking you these questions.

Alternatively, simply go over them in your head if there is no one to help you, and give thought as to how you would answer these questions. This will definitely give you an outline or an idea of some questions that may come up during the interview.

The most important thing is to be truthful when you give an answer and be yourself.

The interview stage is a face-to-face situation in which candidates for a job are questioned and their responses are carefully recorded and scored as a basis for their subsequent comparison and selection or rejection. This means that interview are used to study applicant to assess them at a close range.
