I, The Graduating Engineering Student Turned Incidental Writer (sixteenth Stride) renewed Energy
Foreword
Foreword
This series of articles, on the travails and torments of required writing for school term papers, thesis or dissertation, are purposely taken in the point of view of the student in the graduating or senior years. Hopefully, they reveal how much anguish and agony he goes through in every phase of the activity he is obliged to present, even to defend in front of a panel of peers, prior to receiving his much toiled-for diploma.
Previously
The graduating student spent the greater part of the night thinking about the woman he was recently introduced to, diffidently accepting his immature anticipation of a relationship not yet on an advanced and mutually binding stage.

The community I live in, a composite of apartment buildings and some private domiciles, is composed mostly of people studying in or working for the university. It is therefore 95 % made up of vibrant and responsive youth. It also has its fair share of streakers and flashers, and exhibitionism is well tolerated to a degree, especially in the village swimming pool.
So it was no big a deal when I woke up in the heat of the mid-morning sun gloriously illuminating my balcony, amid the unabashed giggles from the other balconies. With a coy shrug I picked up the bed sheet from the floor and wrapped it around my nakedness. Those who have experienced sleeping nude in the outside air for a whole evening, know how refreshing the feeling is of having every pore of the skin breathe, absorbing all the humidity from the atmosphere.
Regenerated and stimulated, I bounded through the routine procedures of grooming, breakfasting, and dressing up. I have decided on what I can or must do, fully confident I will fare well in the end on every count, including my love life. I made my mind up to see her again before she goes home to her country, and reveal how I feel. I would not even care whatever she thinks or does after that - love to me is a pure affection, uninfluenced by other variables, unencumbered by the rest of human emotions.
Curios looks greeted me from every acquaintance I happen to meet as I strolled down the broad tree-lined avenues of the campus. I must have appeared extraordinarily primped in long-sleeved polo shirt and slacks and leather shoes, a far distant from my usual tee shirt and denim pants and rubber shoes. My salutations, too, must have been uncommonly tonal, because of the laughter drowning the replies.
Where are you going? The question startled me like a clarinet ringing thru a din of tambourines. The day is so perfect I can not imagine spending it at home I had to be with nature, I had to share the day with the world. Anywhere and everywhere is where I am going.
My feet brought me to the inter-denominational church erected within the campus. I have been here many times before, not only before examination day or during submission of grades but also in happier circumstances. A side door of the edifice is open at all times to accommodate those who may be in moments of need for spiritual enlightenment.
I am here today for the greatest of reasons I am in love.
