Keith Urban Tickets - Keith Urban Announces New Album, 'get Closer'

Country music star Keith Urban will release the follow-up to his 2009 album Defying Gravity

, titled Get Closer, on Nov. 16 via Capitol Nashville, reports CMT.com. Urban is currently wrapping up the recording of the album in the country music capital of Nashville and is co-producing Get Closer with Dann Huff, who has worked with country artists like Reba McEntire, Rascal Flatts, Faith Hill and Trisha Yearwood.

The lead single off Get Closer, "Put You in a Song," surfaced on Sept. 13 and was co-written by Urban with Sarah Buxton and Jedd Hughes. Speaking about the track to CMT.com, Urban said, "I've always loved songs about 'the guy in love with the unattainable girl.' And the idea that the only chance that this poor guy is ever going to have to get close to the object of his affection is to put her in a song...just struck me. That way, he'd be able to take her with him everywhere he goes...day and night."

Although Urban has yet to announce a fresh batch of concert dates in support of his forthcoming new album, fans can still get Keith Urban tickets to see him perform at his second all-star concert to benefit the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. CMT.com reports that the event will take place at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Oct. 5 and will also feature performances by music stars Vince Gill, Dolly Parton, Charley Pride, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Alison Krauss, John Mayer and Billy Currington.

Speaking about the event, Urban told CMT.com, "This year we've created a musical theme called 'Heroes.' I've asked each artist to play one of their favorite songs from one of their country heroes, besides of course, one of their own hits. There's no doubt that this audience is going to experience a really special night-some of their favorite artists doing songs that, in some cases, they may have never even been played live before ... and quite possibly won't ever again." Urban hosted his inaugural We're All for the Hall Concert on Oct. 13, 2009.

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum isn't the only cause that Urban supports, as The Boot reports that he is among the stars partaking in the American Cancer Society's new campaign More Birthdays. The More Birthdays movement features the artwork and talent of artists like Jack Johnson, Justin Bieber, Maroon 5 and Colbie Caillat, who all perform their own unique rendition of "Happy Birthday."

"I love the spirit of the America Cancer Society's More Birthdays campaign because it celebrates life. The marking of time, especially when spent with family and friends on that special day, helps to remind us of the little things that are the most important to all of our lives," Urban said to CMT.com. Proceeds from custom cards, posters, prints and gift-wrap made from the artists' contributions (which can be purchased at the More Birthdays website) will assist the American Cancer Society in raising funds.
