, a French band belonging to the electropop, ambient and shoegazing music genres. Shoegazing is a musical movement that first appeared in 1980s UK as part of the alternative rock genre, which often includes distortion and layers of noisy guitars.

M83 began their music careers in 2001, releasing a self-titled album that did not sell well outside of Europe. Their second album, on the other hand, would make up for that loss and receive wide acclaim. The second album, Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts, spurred on a worldwide tour.

The Midnight City lyrics delve into city nightlife, particularly Los Angeles, and waiting for the scene to happen as hes waiting in his car. The song was released in 2011 within the album Hurry Up Were Dreaming. Hurry Up Were Dreaming is the bands sixth studio album. Pitchfork ranked the song #1 among the 2011s Top 100 Tracks. Several other indie music publications also ranked the song high on their end-of-year lists.

Midnight City has been used in several media venues, including a television advertisement Victorias Secret and the BBCs ads for the London 2012 Olympic Games, as well as the TV show Made in Chelsea. In late 2011, M83 performed Midnight City on Last Call with Carson Daly and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

The Im Lost Without You lyrics from pop-punk band Blink-182 comes off their 2003 self-titled album. The Im Lost Without You lyrics speak of passionate love and a fear of letting go. This marks their fifth studio album, recorded by the Geffen label.

It was after this album that the band went on hiatus and returned to the music scene in 2009. A hiatus also took place after the previous album, in which each band member took on side-projects.
