Since the 2011 NCAA football season saw a myriad of outstanding player performances, NFL teams will expect a lot from their rookies. One team that really made some great draft decisions is the Cleveland Browns. The Browns were looking to improve their offensive weapons in the hopes of making the playoffs this coming season and sell NFL tickets to their continually committed fan base. They may have secured themselves an excellent season by drafting future all-star running back Trent Richardson.

Trent Richardson in AFC North:

There are many predictions that see Richardson dominating the AFC North for several reasons. Rather than seem bogged down from the pressure of literally having the Browns depend on him for a successful season, Richardson seems to be taking things in stride. Coming out of the University of Alabama, Trent Richardson had the following stats: 42 touchdowns, 3,860 yards from scrimmage, and 600 total touches. In just his last year in Alabama, Richardson 21 rushing touchdowns, 1,679 rushing yards, and 5.9 yards per carry in 283 attempts. This kid has all the makings of a future Hall of Famer.

He is athletic, tough, durable, and can get the yards that other running backs probably cannot. Richardson has a positive attitude and more than that, he has true grit, and that should motivate the rest of the Browns' offensive line to up their game throughout the season. Last season, the Browns were near the bottom offensively, but with Richardson on the squad, their numbers and ranking should change dramatically.

Trent Richardson Rookie Predictions:

With the help of a now strong offensive line, Richardson should have a stellar rookie season. The fact is that Richardson is a threat in the backfield, can make people miss, and is an every-down running back. So what does that say about his rookie season with the Browns? It is likely that newbie Richardson will be able to get 10 touchdowns, 1,200 yards, and around 250 carries. It will also help that the Browns play below average defending teams like the Indianapolis Colts, Buffalo Bills, Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, and Philadelphia Eagles. Essentially, Richardson has been put in a position to make one of the strongest impacts on the league of all rookies.

Breaking Records?

Richardson has been quoted as saying that there is a lack of respect for running backs in the NFL and that has fueled his determination to do well. He wants to reinstate the position of running back to its previous elite status by breaking records this season, and every season following it. Most analysts consider Richardson to be the best running back coming into the NFL this season, but he may also be the best player to enter the league in a long time.
