Nfl Tickets - Power Rankings
Here are the top 10 teams in the NFL as I see them as of December 21
, 2009, listed in order.
Indianapolis Colts: As the now-lone undefeated team in the league, the Colts reign as the current number one in the power rankings. They have not dominated from week to week, though. NFL tickets for Colts games have been great all season, as Indi seems to play in a nail-biter every week. Peyton Manning always seems to find a way to win, though. The Colts might rest their starters for portions of the final two regular season games, but 16-0 is a very realistic possibility with only the Jets and Bills remaining.
New Orleans Saints: The Saints finally lost a game, falling to Dallas at home this past week. The Saints are still a very good team, and it might have been good to get a loss out of the way before the playoffs start. It's not like they lost to a bad opponent either. Drew Brees and company should right the ship and be ready to roll in the playoffs.
San Diego Chargers: One could make an argument that the Chargers are the best team in the league. I don't quite buy it, but I think any team would be afraid to play them in the playoffs. They've rattled off win after win this season, whether in blowout fashion or in close games. They squeaked one out in Week 15 against a good Bengals team and are looking strong.
Minnesota Vikings: The Vikings have had two big hiccups this season, getting handled by Arizona and Carolina. The Carolina game was a big surprise and supposedly there is a bit of a rift between Brad Childress and Brett Favre. This team has the makeup to win a Super Bowl, but they've got to come together again for that to happen.
Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles are flying under the radar, playing good football and positioning themselves for another playoff run. They're in the driver's seat in the NFC East and have already wrapped up a spot in the postseason.
Green Bay Packers: The Packers are a bit inconsistent on defense, and may be a year away from truly competing for the NFC title. They've got a dynamic offense, though, that can score at will on any defense, so they're always in games.
Cincinnati Bengals: The Bengals lost an emotional game in San Diego this past week, but they're definitely going to be a tough out in the playoffs. Carson Palmer seems to be hitting his stride now and the defense is a quality unit.
Dallas Cowboys: The Cowboys got a huge win in New Orleans in Week 15 and they needed it badly. They're in position to make the postseason, but need to prove that ending the Saints' bid for an undefeated season wasn't a December fluke.
New England Patriots: Their win over the Bills wasn't impressive, but they got the job done.
Arizona Cardinals: I don't know what to think of this team, as they seem to be fading a bit since their win over the Vikings, but we know they can get hot at any time.
