Obesity and weight gain are major health problems in America today
. In fact, obesity has reached epidemic proportions in this country. Although obesity is already a problem in itself, it is a disorder that also increases one's risk for other serious diseases such as heart disease and diabetes.
There are several reasons why people become obese. Making wrong lifestyle choices is one of them. Eating an unhealthy diet and living a sedentary lifestyle both significantly contribute to weight gain. Most Americans knowingly or unknowingly follow the Standard American Diet of S.A.D. which consists of fats and refined forms of carbohydrates and low in fruits and vegetables or fiber.
The debate on whether or not Omega fats can aid in the management of obesity has been ongoing for some time now. In a recent study, researchers concluded that Omega-3 fatty acids should be included in the dietary preferences of obese people as these types of fatty acids provide many health benefits. In addition, the study also claims that they are essential for those suffering from chronic disorders as a result of obesity. At the same time, some cardiologists also believe that just like the other nutrients, omega-3 fats should also have a daily recommended intake.
As far as we are concerned, omega-3 fatty acids should be included in everyone's diets because its benefits have been proven in many studies. There are basic rules that we already know about staying healthy and being able to effectively manage our weight but there should always be room for new helpful information.
Although obesity itself does not kill, it is a condition that leads to many complications that can eventually lead to death. Also, because many lead an unhealthy lifestyle, many are at risk. It is not that hard to become excessively overweight or obese which is why we all need to be constantly vigilant about what we eat and how we live. It is our responsibility to stay informed. New and reliable information is always available on the internet and on credible publications. We strongly encourage everyone to read up on various researches and if these have been proven to be valid, then there is no reason not to follow the recommendations and suggestions given.
