Advertise your business and your products to everyone while they are drinking and having a good time. Offering discounts and special items will make people more interested in buying.

Plan a huge New Years Eve Dance party. Invite everyone you know, and tell them to bring at least two guests each. Aim to invite at least 30 people from your social circle (friends, family, co-workers, etc.). As well as inviting everyone you know, advertise the event on social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook. Charge $5 per person to get in.

If 100 people come to your DC New Years Eve event, you will make $500 which should be enough to cover providing small refreshments and snacks. Consider having a beer keg & charging $2 per cup of beer. You probably know someone (or someone who knows someone) who would be willing to volunteer as a DJ for the night. In exchange, they would get free admission and unlimited drinks.

Now, here is the part where you make money for your business. Gather together a bunch of products to promote and sell at the New Years Eve Dance party. You should bring out your best-selling items, of course. Because these are popular, you should not have a problem selling them at regular price. Separately from these items, set up a table with items that were hard to sell that year. Since they probably would not sell otherwise, you can mark them down 50-75%.

Another good idea is to put a little DC New Years Eve twist on some of your products. Putting "I survived 2011" stickers on things is one thing you could do. You could even invest in cheap "2012 funglasses" and sell them at double price for a surefire money-maker. Also, make sure you introduce yourself to people you have never met before; make sure they leave with your business card. Catch up with old friends or people you have done business with before. Let them know about new business happenings in the coming year. You might bring in new customers.
