Six Pack Exercise – The Number One Six Pack Exercise!

Six Pack Exercise The Number One Six Pack Exercise!

If you've read much about fitness, you may have learned that the most important tip for getting lean and getting a set of six pack abs is to change your diet. However, exercise is still very important for achieving a lean physique and staying in shape. You may be surprised to find that the number one six pack exercises is NOT a crunch or a situp, though!

The Deadlift

You may have also learned that weight training is extremely important for anyone who wants to be lean and have a six pack. Training with weights instead of doing countless hours of cardio helps you build muscle tissue, stimulate your metabolism, and give your body a good shape, even if you don't want to get exceptionally muscular.

Not all weight training movements are created equally, however. Abdominal exercises like crunches and sit-ups can help train your abs to a degree, but they really aren't going to do much for your progress towards a six pack. Heavy, compound movements are what you need to do.

The best of all of these heavy movements is the deadlift! It really is the best six pack exercise, for a number of reasons. The first of these reasons is that the deadlift will do more than any other exercise, except perhaps for the squat, to build muscle mass. The more muscle mass you have, the more calories you will burn everyday, and the closer you will be toward getting rid of that stomach fat and showing off your abs.

The deadlift also works the abs harder than any crunch you could every do! I'm willing to bet that the first few times you seriously try deadlifts, your abs will be super-sore the next day. This is because in order to keep your lower back in a safe, neutral, and strong position, your abs must work extremely hard!

Don't worry about "building too much muscle," either. This is honestly one of the most ridiculous things anyone in the fitness world ever says. Building muscle is a long, hard process that requires a ton of commitment. While adding a good six pack exercise like deadlifts to your routine will help you build some muscle tissue, you are never, EVER going to build more muscle than you want to. Exceptionally muscular people like bodybuilders take years or even decades to build their size, and they are doing everything in their power (intense training, massive food intake, meticulous planning) to get there.
