Bay window is known as the window which has three adjacent windows which are protruding out. One of the ideas for your bay window treatment is by using blind. You have to measure the size of your window prior to buying the right blinds. Then, you can choose the materials of the blind which can outfit your window.

The first thing you have to do is to choose the shade. It can help you determine the blind's depth. Different blinds will provide you different depths. Therefore, you have to choose the right one for fitting your window so that the blind can hang elegantly on your window. In addition, for calculating the depth of the window, you have to find out the intersecting points for every separate windowpane.

The second thing you have to do is to cut two cardboard pieces with similar thickness to window blinds with the length of about 12 inches. Place the cardboard in such a way until the front edges touch the meeting points. Draw a line on which the edges meet since it will be the place for the blind to meet. Mark on each intersecting point of your bay window.

The third thing is to measure each of the bow blinds. The measurement of the left side of the window should be the same with the intersecting point. For the right blind, you have to use the intersecting point of that right side. Then, get the measurement of the center windowpane by determining the distance from the left and right intersecting point.

The last thing you need to do is to consider the bracket. For this case, you can add 2 inches high. If you prefer inside mounts, you have to measure the precise width of your window. For outside-mounted blind, it should rest right outside the frame of your windowpane.
