Spread Positive Motivation in the Work Place

In the work place, everyone has a different reason to be on the job. Some work because they have to, while others are truly in a career field they enjoy. However, in either situation, the manager in charge can play a huge role in how the people under them are motivated to work hard and to do a good job. The reason is positive motivation goes a long ways on the company floor or in the office. Most importantly, it means treating people like they matter, because they do matter. When people tend to feel good about themselves, they will be loyal, trustworthy, and hard-working.

It would be nice to have employees in your business that truly worked for their personal fulfillment. They set their own goals and are willing to contribute in ways that go beyond themselves. However, this is far from the truth. It means you need to implement total respect and dignity for every employee in the business. If the CEO is encouraging and respectful for others below him or her, it is the kind of attitude that spreads quickly. When people feel like they matter, it will prevent a lot of future problems.

One way to pass on positive motivation is to provide encouraging feedback. Even if you have to bring a piece of constructive criticism to someone, make sure it is done in a manner that is encouraging. This can prevent a defensive response in return. It is also important to trust people, at least until proven wrong. When trust is apparent, it will be the foundation for employee retention, effective communication among the staff, employee motivation, and having the extra energy and investment for someone to do a quality job at work. Positive motivation will go a long ways in creating a successful environment.
