The Nokia N8 Offers A Very Customisable Handset

The Nokia N8 provides a fully customisable handset for the busy user who wants to have a phone for different places and people in their life

. This is all achieved by the three home screens it offers, which can be used for example as one for friends, one for work and one for leisure. Each can be made different with differing customised wallpapers, descriptions, contacts and widgets to use.

For the friends home screen, a single interface offers all messages and social networking updates from Facebook and Twitter to be instantly viewed. Events from these sites are made visible in the phones calendar also, and user profiles are visible as phone contacts. The Ovi Store application provides a continuous stream of optional downloads for new widgets and applications meanwhile.

The multimedia offered by this handset is impressive, with on demand WebTV also a key application already featured with the phone, and HD video playback for YouTube and lie video streaming too. The Nokia Music Player can be easily looked through with a cover flow interface showing album artwork for easier searching. The Nokia Music Store offers a gateway to more and more music also.

The N8 has an impressive range of global positioning ethnology integrated, including both GPS and A-GPS, and an Accelerometer and compass (Magnetometer) to ensure correct orientation and display. WiFi positioning is also featured. To enhance the use of such technology, Ovi Maps is preloaded and provides free vehicle and pedestrian navigation, while Nokia Ovi Suite through a PC connection can transfer and update all maps for free.

The camera offered by this NSeries handset, is an impressive 12 megapixel HD video camera, with a Carl Zeiss lens, it also has face recognition, an Xenon flash, and an easy to use viewfinder through using the entire 3.5 inch touchscreen in widescreen ration (16:9). A secondary camera is also included on the phone for the video calling featured.

The Nokia N8 is great for the user who needs to separate contacts and features on their phone to fit around their life, and the different uses they require from a phone in the 21st Century. It can offer social networking, music and on demand video for personal use, while still offering a more professional background and set of widgets for business use, along with separating the contacts. As if that werent enough, there is yet a third home screen available. This could simply be used for amateur video capturing through the HD camera perhaps. A lot of style, and no lack of substance.
