The Samsung Galaxy S features an impressive 4 inch display with Super AMOLED technology and WVGA resolution
. It also has much in the way of entertainment and great messaging facilities along with both a main camera for image and video capturing and a front camera for self-shots and video calls.
The full touch bar handset has 3G and Wi-Fi internet connectivity allowing you to send and receive emails from personal email accounts configured with the easy to use email client in addition to the preloaded Google Mail client. The fast connection also provides you with the full web through the Chrome-lite browser also preloaded. The handset is running the Android 2.1 (Eclair) operating system which is capable of running multiple applications and can have more applications added to through Android Market.
The Galaxy S has a 5 megapixel camera with digital zoom and auto focus capabilities. When taking photos you can add effects such as negative, black and white or sepia colouration, and can also take advantage of multiple shot modes available including single shot, continuos, panorama, action shot and more. The camera also records video in 720 pixel resolution at 30 frames per second which is equal to DVD quality. Videos can be played back through the video player on the handset or on a big screen using the TV out connection present. Video calling and self shots can also be made using the front VGA camera.
Messaging features include text messaging with predictive text (T9) support for fast typing, and multimedia messaging to share images and videos instantly with friends. There is also GTalk for instant messaging to chat to friends. Further connectivity is offered with USB 2.0 including file sharing support, and Bluetooth 3.0 which includes the mobile printing profile (BPP) along with wireless stereo profiles allowing you to enjoy music from the music player without being physically connected to the handset. Additionally, you can listen to the integrated FM radio with RDS support.
The handset comes with 2 gigabytes of internal memory along with selected Nand memory and microSD expandable memory up to 32 gigabytes, providing plenty of space to add more apps and widgets to the handset. The text messaging (SMS) memory and phone book (contacts) memory are both equally limited only to the available memory.
