At a culinary school you will learn and study about the theory of cooking, planning menus, sanitation, purchasing and health laws. Most chefs are required to have 11 to 12 years of experience with this profession.
The culinary school a person graduates from is not so important, as there are quite a few good school. But what is important is that you will need lots of experience in this field. Apprenticeship is quite helpful and will enable you to gain lots of experience towards this type of profession. Getting this experience can be very rewarding when preparing to become a chef.
