Three Ways to Grow Your Business

When everything is boiled down there are really only three ways to grow your business.

- Increase your number of customers.

- Increase the average sale to each customer.

- Increase the frequency of those customers buying from you.

So why am I mentioning this? Because a properly designed and implemented email marketing campaign works in all three of these areas.

So let's take a look at each of the above statements and see how email marketing can accomplish growing your business. (In reverse order.)

Increase the frequency of a customer buying from you.

One of the ways that the frequency of a customer buying from you can be increased is through reminders.

If you have a periodic product or service, reminder email messages can be sent out to customers when they are due to return. A gentle reminder sent to the customer will help them to remember to return for the next periodic service.

For example, if you are a dentist, a reminder can be sent out every 6 months reminding your client that they are due for another teeth cleaning.

If you run a car service business, a reminder can be sent 3 months after the customers last oil change reminding them to return for their next oil change.

Or for any business, a regular monthly email can be sent just to keep in touch with your customers, and let them know about any specials or sales you may be having. This can also contain a coupon as an incentive, which greatly increases the likelihood they will visit your business.

Increase the average sale to each customer.

You no doubt have products or services that are more profitable than others in your business. Your email marketing campaigns can concentrate on those products or services that are the most profitable.

If you send out regular monthly emails, you can select these more profitable items to educate your customers about. These more profitable items leave more room to make effective use of coupons.

Increase your number of customers.

There is the usual idea of going out and finding more new customers. But every business also looses customers, for whatever reason. Email marketing can minimize the amount of customers you loose by keeping in touch with them.

If you expend some effort and gain a half dozen new customers in a month, but loose another half dozen, what have you gained? Nothing.

Email marketing enables you to build a relationship with your customers. The more they know you, and know about you, the less likely they are to leave you. You won't get forgotten.

People tend to buy from those they know, like, and trust. Email marketing helps your clients know about you, grow to like you, and to trust you. This will help to eliminate your customers from going to some one they don't know, like, and trust.

Email marketing is all about building the relationship, which pays off in building your business.
