People who are looking into liposuction or tummy-tuck procedures are usually at a

point were their skin has stretched and has very little elasticity or they have fat deposits they can't get rid of. Most patients look to a tummy tuck procedure to help with sagging skin or elasticity problems. Liposuction on the other hand deals with the fatty tissues that often cause the skin to bulge out. This surgery depends on the natural elasticity of the skin to pull itself back together once fat has been removed from the body. Liposuction is a more successful surgery on younger individuals. It might also be more successful on people who have not had to loose a lot of weight but experience a little extra undesirable weight.

There are instances where a liposuction and a tummy tuck may be used in the same surgery to make sure the right results are attained. This again depends on the age and overall health of the skin of a patient. In the end, however, liposuction and tummy tuck are too different procedures. How they are preformed, the trauma to the body, and the recovery times are very different according to a variety of factors.
