Albany - Governor David A. Paterson let us know that he has authorized into law 3 bills that had been put forth by his Current administration to enhance the growth of the clean energy economy. The bills improve the consumer equipment which is why the Department of State provides the authority to set energy productivity specifications; permit natural gas tools to apply on-bill restoration plans for their clients that make energy proficiency investments; and improve the meaning of alternative energy manufacturing factories to add kinetic energy storage equipment to aid their siting and support of utility-scale renewable power projects.

"Progression of the clean energy economic system may also help meet up with a range of my targets, from building brand new sectors and work opportunities for New Yorkers, to improving energy proficiency and enhancing the energy security of the State," Governor Paterson said. "Passage of these three bills represents another step forward in development of the new economy. I commend the Legislature for working with me on these joint goals and passing these important pieces of clean energy legislation."

The effect of establishing these energy requirements will likely be a decrease in electrical power usage and furtherance of development towards the State's 'forty five by 15' clean energy objective to get 45 pct of the State's electricity needs met with clean energy by 2015.
