The latest colour variant of the LG GD 510 Pop is Black

. This new colour scheme adds further appeal to this already popular and functional handset.

The phone is comfortable to hold thanks to it's light weight of just 87 grams. The handset measures 97.8x49.5x11.2mm so is relatively compact. The screen is a TFT resistive touch screen measuring 3 inches. It displays up to 256,000 colours at 240x400 pixels offering good quality on screen display. An accelerometer is built in for auto rotate meaning it senses movement of the phone and displays content in portrait and landscape.

In order to alert users to incoming calls and messages, the standard vibration works alongside ringing, and MP3 files can be used as ringtones allowing customisation of the phone. For convenience when on the move, a speakerphone is built in allowing users to talk whilst carrying out tasks such as driving.

42MB of internal storage provides room for data such as contacts and media files to be saved. Should extra storage be required, the micro SD slot can be utilized, and a memory card of up to 16 GB installed. The phonebook can store up to 1000 entries and includes the photo call feature.

Class 12 versions of both GPRS and EDGE provide the initial means by which the GD510 Pop Black connects to networks. Bluetooth is installed as standard (in this case it is version 2.1 with A2DP) which offers an efficient method of sharing files with friends. The phone can be connected to a computer by using the included micro USB connection. This is ideal for transferring data and backing up files such as media files and contact info.

Media files are supported in a range of both music and video file formats. Several games and a built in stereo FM radio player add to the entertainment options. The GD510 Pop Black is ideal for fans of social networking. It includes applications which allow direct access to sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter.

A digital camera is built in featuring 3.15 megapixels. This operates at 2048x1536 pixels offering good quality snapshots to be taken. Video can be shot in QVGA quality at 15 fps.

Standard extra feature include T9, voice memo and a handy organizer. An optional solar panel is available for charging the handset when outdoors, which is sure to appeal to the growing demographic of eco-friendly users.

The appeal of this phone lies mainly in it's functionality and versatility, whilst the addition of new colour variants adds to it's aesthetic appeal for style conscious users.
