A Weekend At The Wellington Hotel In New York - Is It As Nice As It's Location?

The Wellington Hotel New York is all about location! It is just a couple of meters

from Carnegie Hall, half block to the Russian Tea Room, 1 block to Central Park, half block to David Letterman's theatre, and a somewhat affordable cab ride to anyplace you would like to go on Broadway. For people with more money than brains you can step to the boutiques on 57th, including Bergdorf-Goodman, Tiffany's and the like.

We decided on a single bedroom suite in the back of the hotel, which had zero view, but as it had been off-street, was a wise trade-off. It was very silent, with a stunning marbled bath, fantastic water pressure, a clean, peaceful suite with bedroom, living room, and kitchenette along with chiller, kitchen sink, and microwave oven. Door man and concierge desk had been helpful with maps and tips. Heating system has been a little loud, however this can be the case in most of these old buildings. Wireless was excellent. Coffee shop in the hotel is used by everybody in the area so it's usually chaotic with line-ups. Walk out of the hotel for only two blocks or so and you should discover coffee/sandwich spots more affordable n comparison to the cafe in the hotel. (That is helpful advice wherever you happen to be staying in New York!).

The Wellington diner is a darkish, greek fashion, old-fashioned affair with velvet chairs, off the main reception. This hotel will be difficult for the impaired, with there being alcoves and released hallways with half floors. Steps going up or down nearly everywhere in the hotel. The cafe as well as the bistro are generally pricey, and so are capitalizing on the tourists. Actually, across the street, several feet away from hotel is a Subway, various street vendors, and also a Starbucks next door, all of which were doing a quick business from the several hotel clients in the neighborhood.

The hotel even had a beauty and hair salon, well stocked put shop, room service menu, as well as a TV both in the bedroom and the lounge room. There was immediate reaction from the reception if you had concerns or difficulties with heating system or housekeeping services troubles. Many cleaning employees in New York hotels don't speak English, therefore do not anticipate too much. Strangely there is a coffeemaker in the kitchen, though the receptionist explained they do not give coffee.. On the whole, a wonderful choice for this location. I will possibly stop at the Wellington Hotel everytime I get back to New York, simply because of the cost and location.
