This is to have optimistic views that you can perform outstandingly. This also means that you have to develop self-confidence. As a softball player, you will need this because you will be standing in the middle of a great crowd. Allowing yourself to be engulfed by tension or uneasiness is giving your opponent the advantage. This could lead to the worst case scenario of poor hitting performance.
