Husband Wants Wireless Internet, Wife Wants New Washer
It is no surprise that everyone gets to a certain point after a while of living in the same house
, apartment, loft or what ever four walls you call home. Things start to break down, all of the lovely, brightly colored linens you bought years ago are now fading and the kitchenware looks dull and chipped. When this process takes hold, it is time for the husband and wife to sit down, have a little talk, and make some decisions on what priorities to focus on for their first home make over. What does the wife want? A new washer and dryer. What does the husband want? Wireless Internet and other cool gadgets.
While some people have the luxury of moving between houses, towns, states and countries, most every day citizens do not. It is uncommon to be able to pick up and buy a new place whenever one feels like it. Most people save up as much money as they can to buy a starter house soon after getting married. They live here for some time doing as much with it as they can, assessing needs along the way. However, even a happily married couple might not see eye to eye when creating the to-do list for around the house.
As soon as this conversation commences, one knows there are going to be issues. The wife wants to focus on things the house really needs. She says, do you want to start washing your dirty socks and underwear by hand and hanging them out on a line like our grandparents did back in the day? The husband quickly rebuts with his desire for undated technology in the house. He says, But honey, now there is WiMax. To this, the wife quickly retorts, you probably do not even know what that is. Which in many intances might be true.
To avoid looking uneducated, the husband quickly Googles this term and finds out that it goes hand and hand with the ever popular 4G service. It is a telecommunications protocol that provides fixed and fully mobile Internet access.
While talking casually over dinner, the husband breeches the subject again, hoping he can convince his wife of the technological revamp he sees necessary. He mentions all of the benefits of installing a new Internet system into their home. With the new technology, they can access a high-speed connection not only in the comfort of their own home, but all over town as well. A mobile air card allows inexpensive, mobile computing all over the world.
As soon as the woman of the house hears this, her ears perk up a little bit. She has always wanted Internet on her phone, but it just seemed like an expensive luxury she could live without. While the idea of implementing a new wireless internet system in the house did seem like a good idea, she could not help but think that they needed a new washer and dryer more than a high speed connection to the internet.
Listening to his wife express her dilemma, the husband said he had great news. The new 4G connection is more affordable than ever, and companies have packages for all needs and budgets!
So at the end of the day, they wont have to hang their old socks out on a line for the neighbors to see, nor will they have to wait three minutes for their dial-up modem to connect. Everyone wins!
