It Costs Too Much To Get To Airports

You may have got an excellent deal on flights by booking well in advance of the flight

, and by avoiding flying during the high season, but you'll notice that airport are trying to take an extra scoop of the profit pie by making the cost of getting to the airport so abysmally high. And there is not much you can do about this problem.

Getting to the airport, even if you drive is a very expensive proposition. And there is in fact little chance that you are even permitted to walk or cycle to the airport so you will have to pay someone along. Of course one of the most expensive ways to get to an airport is to take taxi. This will mean that you will get there quickly, but travelling from the city centre to an airport that's quite a way out which cost you. Even heading from Brooklyn to Queens to catch flights from New York to Madridwill set you back at least $30. And this is perhaps as much as you might expect to pay by any other method.

Taking the LIRR train to JFK is quite an expense due to the distance. You can expect to pay at least $18 dollars for a ticket just to the airport. For a return, which you'll likely require, is even more money again. This option is preferably to a taxi for flights from New York to Bangkokbecause it's cheaper, but the only cheap way to get to an airport seems to be to get dropped off by a friend who doesn't stop to say goodbye. This is especially good at an airport like LAX where flights from Los Angeles to London are already expensive enough.

The airport parking fees are so expensive that it's not worth driving yourself. And forget about taking a high-speed train. Taking a train to London Heathrow can be as expensive as a flight itself!
