DAYTON, Ohio Los Angeles Pop artist Jenefer Sin is set to release her debut single "Take a Number" June 27. With her self-titled style "Dirty Pop Hop n Roll," Sin is ready to introduce music listeners to a new sound her sound.
Island Def Jam Digital Distribution's newest artist is in the early stages of her career, but has had a taste for making music her entire life. Growing up in Swansea, Wales, she enjoyed listening to a variety of artists, including The Beautiful South, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner and No Doubt. She was surrounded by Soul music, thanks to the Motown cover band her Mother was in, and at the same time, grew fond of Rock n Roll that echoed throughout her home. In the early years of her life, Sin was still developing her style, but knew she wanted to express the sound in her heart. She knew making Pop music was the artistic path she wanted to follow.
During her teenage years, Sin's family ran a bed and breakfast, originally owned by Donna Summer, called "The Castle at Summer Place" in Lake Tahoe. On the property was a recording studio, giving Sin a deeper inspiration. "At that point, I knew I wanted this," she said. "I wanted to be a Pop star."
Sin soaked up a variety of genres and felt inspired to follow her goal of making music. She wants her sound to describe her definition of Pop music. With her debut single, Sin gives listeners something to dance to.
Her song "Take a Number," co-written by Sin and produced by Wesley Avery and Matt Sirrine, is perfect for club scenes. The melody is infectious, filled with edgy beats and catchy lyrics. At the same time, the track opens with a steady drumbeat and ends with a fadeout of guitar riffs.
