Meeting With A Plastic Surgeon

You may find that after you lost weight you still had stubborn fat that you just can't lose

. You realize you can't get that flat tummy back. You have extra skin, wrinkles, and lately you even feel that your breasts are drooping. You try creams, and magic lift bras. You might even try underpants that promise to smooth out your appearance. In the end you still have to take all those things off. You realize that you have a body that your unhappy with. You come to a place where you are ready to talk to a plastic surgeon.

You know you have to be a good candidate for surgeries. A good candidate would be someone at a healthy weight that they can maintain. Any surgery that corrects problems from being overweight is permanent, as long as you don't gain weight again. Sagging breasts, flat bottom, and back fat are all related to extra fat on the body. Another thing to consider is what your expectations look like. If you were expecting to be a different person for instance that would not be healthy expectations. If you realize that surgery has limitations, you likely have healthy expectations. Your surgeon will want to meet with you to discuss this.

You're also going to discuss the risks and benefits of a surgery or procedure. Your doctor may choose to tell you about several options and the risks and benefits to each. For instance you may compare the benefits of one type of procedure against another to determine, which is going to be best for your finances, and which one will give you the outcome you desire. You may also discuss doing more than one procedure at a time. Perhaps you are looking at liposuction, but you also want to have Botox for the wrinkles. The risks of combining procedures will also be considered.

Another thing your plastic surgeon will want to discuss is planning for your procedures. For instance, if you are getting Botox for the first time, you don't know how you will feel or how your body may react. You might want to schedule procedures on a Friday afternoon, if you experience redness or swelling it will be resolved in the privacy of your own home. You may not want to schedule liposuction or a breast lift, and then have plans to go to a friend's dinner party. You may also want to prepare to have a support person after some procedures.

Discuss options with your plastic surgeon. Make a list of all the questions you have and the trouble areas that you would like addressed. A consultation appointment is a great time to discuss your desires, expectations and risks and benefits. You may find that your days of wearing smoothing underpants, magic lift bras and wrinkle creams are in the past.
