. A very motivational quote to ignite your spirit but also a leap taken out of your comfort zone. And I had decided to take that "uncomfortable leap" at a time in my life where as, in my situation, I guarantee 90% would have not. But hey, I want to be part of that 10% that do, and it just so happened, that was the timing life had presented itself to me. Let me briefly fill you in.

I had been self employed for a number of years in a rather interesting and profitable career, but with no secure future and on a timer. Sure, money kept coming in, yet not much more quickly than it was going out. There was a certain comfortable flow to things, then I became pregnant. I had to retire my self employment because of this, two main reasons being travel and long burdening hours making for a stressful pregnancy, which I opted against for my and the baby's health. And now, at 31 years of age, panic had started to set in. Desperately searching for a quick fix, I scoured the internet bombarded by multitudes of work from home "opportunities", enticed with the titillating offers of "thousands a day!" The ones that seemed to hold a bit more substance I bit at as I kept trudging on through the rest, still open to the "best suggestion" and slickest proposal.

Well, after a few trial and errors, I settled on an mlm company whose products I actually wanted to use and incorporate into my own life. I believe if I'm going to peddle a product, why not one I believe in and can back up? Be a customer first! (You all remember that Hair Club For Men commercial - "Not only am I the president, I'm a customer too!") Ok, so I had a start! But, (insert many levels of discomfort here) soon came along the "harassment" of friends and family, the dreaded contact list! I just couldn't do it, well not again anyway. I had already tried with them other mlm programs I abandoned and there was just no way I was going to keep using them as guinea pigs for my next "new and improved" product, whether I believed in it or not. Yet I was truly invested this time, and truly decided, devoted and hopeful to succeed at something I wanted so badly! Knowing that others have proven successful, I was going to make this work too!

And so instead of reverting back to the daily grind, life's typical wear and tear, and throwing my hands up in exasperation, I became determined and started to use my head. I took a little time out of each and every day to research, explore, and learn everything that is out there. Ah - the amazing endless opportunities of the internet! There is an arsenal of tools and resources out there, so much useful, groundbreaking information! But even so, do you really want the headache of tackling it head on by yourself, blindsided? Having to sift through the garbage before you get to the goldmine? Of course not! Work smarter, not harder, is the motto of every successful network marketing entrepreneur, and should be yours as well.
