Nfl Tickets - Championship Predictions

Here are the matchups I'm projecting for the conference title games and the Super Bowl this season:

AFC Championship: Indianapolis Colts vs. Baltimore Ravens

This would be a rematch of the AFC title games from two years ago. The Colts are the most reliable team in the AFC, regularly notching at least 12 wins and dominating their division for the better part of a decade. If you're going to get NFL tickets to see one player, see Peyton Manning. Manning is one of the best players to ever play the game and could be considered to best quarterback in NFL history if he adds another Super Bowl or two to his resume. With Manning, the Colts are a good bet for a first round bye every year, even though Indy's running game and defense are generally mediocre.

Joseph Addai gets the job done on the ground as far as churning out yards and punching it into the end zone goes, but the Colts will need second-year back Donald Brown to shine for the running game to be truly effective. The great thing for the Colts is that Manning doesn't need more than enough of a running game to keep defense remotely honest. If Bob Sanders can stay healthy, the defense is a different animal.

As for the Ravens, they're definitely a team on the rise this season, especially offensively. Baltimore moved the ball well last season thanks to breakout star running back Ray Rice. Rice led the team in receptions in 2009 and is a great safety vale for third-year signal caller Joe Flacco. However, Flacco has a host of new weapons at his disposal in 2010. The team brought in a legitimate number one receiver in Anquan Boldin and signed T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Donte Stallworth to man the outside as well. The Ravens also drafted two talented pass-catching tight ends in Ed Dickson and Dennis Pitta, one of whom should work out. The only thing that worries me about the Ravens is their secondary, but Ed Reed could be back on the field sooner than anticipated, which would quell some of those concerns. The Ravens are well-rounded enough to make a serious run in the postseason.

Winner: Indianapolis

NFC Championship: Green Bay Packers vs. Dallas Cowboys:

The Packers are becoming a trendy pick to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl this season, and for good reason. The Pack has looked phenomenal in the preseason, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Aaron Rodgers should elevate himself to the truly elite level of quarterbacks in 2010. With a bevy of weapons, including potential breakout star Jermichael Finley, Rodgers could put up the best numbers of any QB in the league this season. The real question will be whether the defense can bend and not break. We saw the Cardinals dismantle this unit in the playoffs last year, but they're a generally young group that should benefit from that throttling.

As for Dallas, we all know that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones wants his team to play in the Super Bowl that he'll be hosting in February. The Cowboys could be the most well-rounded team in the NFL right now. Their passing attack should be prolific in 2010, as Tony Romo has a ton of options. With Miles Austin, Jason Witten, Dez Bryant and Roy Williams, Romo has a good shot at competing for top honors in passing yardage and touchdowns this year. Someone will emerge in the backfield, whether it be Felix Jones, Marion Barber or Tashard Choice, to keep defenses honest. On defense, the Cowboys have playmakers at every level of a unit that could be what propels them to the Super Bowl.

Winner: Dallas

Super Bowl: Indianapolis Colts vs. Dallas Cowboys

In what would be a home game for Dallas, one would think the Cowboys would find a way to claim victory. However, Peyton Manning might have something to say about that. Manning and the Colts have the Cowboys nicked in the experience department and Manning usually thrives indoors. It could give Jerry Jones a heart attack, but I see Indy pulling this one out as Manning solidifies his legacy as the top signal caller in the game.
