The Joule is the reporting arm of 8th Sister LLC. We provide both serious and satire articles about the energy industry. Our goal is to give people a reason to read about energy by combining comedy, history, and education into an eclectic mix of all three. We also generate videos both satirical and educational on many topics including energy, the environment, and sustainability. We have a team of writers and engineers working together to provide you with a deeper level of understanding and professionally written prose.

The Joule Store offers special items designed to help home owners reduce their energy foot print economically. Our goal is to offer items that help pay for themselves by reducing energy usage. Our mission is to educate people about energy production, usage, energy saving and its history. We are 8th Sister and we would like to introduce you to The Joule.

When we put this idea into motion, we recognized that people don't simply want to be educatedthey want to be entertained. With that in mind, we created The Joule, a satirical news website with a focus on energy and environmental topics.

This site was designed to not only make people laugh, but to also make them ask questions.

The first phase of our project was to write articles that teased the industry. Phase two involved integrating tidbits of actual information into the articles so people learned something that seemed like trivia and fodder for water cooler discussions.

Currently in the third phase, we are adding another layer of entertainment in the form of video presentations of Joule content using professional actors starting with a satire news show we call The Joule News Network. And we have even more planned in the next phase.
